What Happens to Your Digestive System When You Lie Down After Eating?

I really don’t think I’m alone when I say that after a huge meal, like Thanksgiving, it seems like there is nothing better than taking that “family nap” on the couch with the game playing on the TV in the background. But is it ok to lay down after a meal? I find that taking a good walk around the block really helps me to feel less fatigued, and kind of moves the food through my system, preventing the bloated feeling. Nothing strenuous, just a nice, light, smell-the-roses type of walk. What do you do after a big meal?
